June 15th, 2009.....Finally a 2 month project is coming to a close. We built a second floor deck on the front of the house. Extended the roof line to cover it and replace the upstairs windows with French Doors. All I have left is to get my welder our and build the railings.
Front of house BEFORE....
AFTER......
UPDATE!....July 25th, 2009....took awhile, now it is more like a 3 month project.
Got the railing built!!.... now I have to take it down and off to the powder
coaters then back up for the last time.
May 15th, 2009.....Finally an update on my Z-Project.....as I mention on page "3" I did finally sell the white Z-Car to a guy in Tucson.
I had the ground effects and wing installed on the Grey Z ....
Then I had to start ripping it apart and sanding it for paint....
It has been in the paint shop for the last 4 weeks...What's the DEAL!? Paint it already!! I'm going in today to see when the hell I get my car back.

After my little girl asking to go camping I finally grabbed the motor home, trailer and quads.... It was only an over night trip but it was alot of fun. We were about 15 miles south west of Flagstaff next to Sycamore Canyon. We had a spot all to our selves and our nearest neighbor was about a mile down the road.
After this picture was taken we started getting swarmed by wasps!! I yelled
at Deanna to "GO GO GO!!!" We hauled ass down the road about 200 yards and stop to
see if there were any hanging onto us. Luckily we did not get stung.
I had dropped my I-phone (I was taking pictures with it) and was ready to go
back but my wife saw it next to my foot! I had gotten stuck on my
heel rest.....nice!
We went for a long walk that evening to look for animals, came back and
started a camp fire. We sat and had dinner around the fire and of
course we had Smores....We had fun.
San Diego!
San Diego Trip ... to see some of our photos from the trip....it was alot of fun

My "wood burning furnace " has arrived. After months of shopping online and trying to decide which one to go with ....here it is.
I know it sounds strange to have a wood burning furnace....it sounds so
"Old fashion". But with natural gas going sky high the last couple of
years and now Obama wants to tax the CRAP out of energy.....it's just going to
get worse. We have been paying around $300 per month just to heat this
5-bedroom town house of ours in the winter.....ouch! And that could be higher
this winter ????? No Thanks
This wood burner will heat the house for about $50 a month. It will pay for itself and the installation in 2 winters. It also qualifies for a $1500 Federal tax credit. I had to relocate the washer and dryer so it could be installed next to the existing gas furnace but that was just a days worth of work....I'll post some pictures once it is installed.
Update: Mar. 1st 2010
We are heating the house on 8 - 10 pieces of wood ( per 24 hours ) depending on how cold the outside temp is. By around 3 am the fire burns down to a point where the gas furnace kicks on, till we add more wood at 6:30 - 7:30am.
ALOT cheaper than gas by about $220 per month.
Other little projects of mine....
I am in the process of installing 2 wind turbines at my place outside of town. The first one arrived in boxes around the first week of August. I was shopping for towers to put them on but they are crazy, as far as price. Try $6000 for one self standing 30 foot tower. No....don't think so. I designed my own tower that will come down and go back up via a hydraulic ram. I took the plans to the local steel shop and they quoted half the price as the online towers and they are stronger along with the fact, I do not have to climb these to maintain the turbines. I'll post pictures when there is something interesting to see.
Update: Oct 15th 2009........ I'm trying to get the towers built closer to $1200 each......wow....never knew it would be so much to put some towers up.
Back in the first part of May, I built a 8x10 chicken coop....LOL....yea, CHICKENS. It was a fun project, started with 25 little chicks and I now have 25 full grown chickens at my place outside of town. They should start laying eggs by the end of September.
Update: Oct. 8th 2009......The chickens are 5 1/2 months old now and finally started laying eggs.....Raegan is so excited. She wants me to build an incubator to try and hatch some...LOL....OK
Update: Oct. 17th, 2009 ...... Well ...here it is. A high tech incubator. I did some reading online and Raegan and I built this today. Styrofoam ice chest, some 1/4" mesh wire to place the eggs on, 25 watt bulb and a temp / humidity gauge. The deal is this....use the mesh to keep the eggs about 2 inches or so off the bottom and pour water under it to keep the humidity above 50%. Use the 25 watt bulb to keep the temp around 100 degrees. Mark the eggs with x's and o's and flip them 3 times a day for 18 days.....should hatch around the 21st day. I hope at least one will hatch for my little girl....she is so excited.
Update: Oct. 18th, 2009...... The 25 watt bulb was toooo hot and a 15watt bulb was toooo cold.....the 23watt fluorescent bulb is jusssst right at 100 degrees...LOL
Update: Nov. 7th, 2009 7am ........The first chick hatch!!! Right on schedule!! We were really excited to see the little thing. I do not know if it will be alone or if more will hatch but the next 24 hours will tell.
