In the middle of April 2010 we decided to get out of the cold of Flagstaff and set off for a weekend @ Los Abrigados Resort in Sedona.  It was a great little get-away.  We hung out at the pool, shopped (of course! with two girls a guy has to know there is shopping in his future) and went on a Pink Jeep Tour.

Our Pink Jeep Tour was alot of fun.

Update May 10th 2010:

OK,  after more crap than I really want to get into here I FINALLY have my Z-car on the road again.  This is the finished product as far as the outside goes and the inside still looks like the previous interior shots.  I have some tuning to do but I am driving it every day right now and love it.  I will not have a number on horse power and torque till I get it to Phoenix for the Dyno machine.... but I do know @ 21 pounds of boost it is fast!

We had a hell of a forest fire up here.  The biggest I have seen since I moved here in 1990.  Below are photos I took from the front of my garage outside of Flagstaff in Doney Park.  You can only see Mt. Elden and the entire Peaks are obscured by the huge plume of smoke.  This fire burned 15000 acres.  The video below is from the top of Mt. Elden.

Sept. 1st 2010

One of my former flight students from the late 1990's emailed me last week.  WOW!  where he has wound up is amazing.  He is flying U-2's in the Air Force.  He sent a few photos from a flight he did at Very high altitude over Flagstaff.

All I can say is "Go Get-em"

I received another email from a former student who is flying in the Air Force as well but still waiting on some pictures.  I am glad to have been part of their lives in the beginning of their flight career's and  wish them both the best.

Dec. 2nd 2010

Well I finally got drawn for a Bull Elk hunt this year.  It had been at least 8 years since my last one.  I moved out to the woods outside of Williams, AZ  Nov. 17th and stayed til Dec. 1st.  I took my motorhome and quad with me.  I put alot of dirt under my tires and feet before the hunt and during.  I covered bottom to top of mountains, canyons, flats, in the pine trees and cedars.... I lost 8 pounds.  The temps at 5am pre-dawn were single digit but I was out there.  I saw tons of Deer every day, Hawks, Coyotes and lots of other wildlife.  The country was beautiful and my dad spent alot of time out with me too.  I really enjoyed the time....unfortunately I never got a shot at an elk.... well...  maybe I can try again in another 8 years.

Dec. 18th 2010

My little girl was in the Nut Cracker play at NAU again.  It is a part of her bi-weekly dance class.  She loves it so much and we are very proud of her.  This is a big thing for her and with hundreds of people in the audience she does not seem to get stage fright....I would.  LOL

I have been working on a project at my garage outside of town.  I rented a tractor and was able to get 3 days of use out of it and my dump truck too....I definitely got my   "Tonka Toy"   fix....LOL   It is probably a guy thing but tractors and dump trucks are so much fun.

I just could not stand it!!  I got into another car project....big surprise eh?  My neighbor is moving to Florida and had  2  1988 Isuzu Trooper 4x4's.  the one in the picture has a new engine to be installed, new sport seats, new carpet, stereo, CB, lift, 5 speed manual trani and more....  the other is together and running.  He said $600 takes them both and I could not say no.  I have another buddy who is going to put the white one back together and get it all running for me and I will sign the title of the other over to him.  It works for all involved.

A few dents and dings with faded paint but that is ok....I will not be afraid to take it out and rough-house the crap out of it.

Dec. 21st 2010

This year had alot of changes and stress for us but we are winding down and happy again.  So far the family is healthy and smiling.  Earlier this year my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  He spent alot of 2009 very uncomfortable and homebound due to lack of "get-up-and-go".  After alot of prodding we finally got him to the hospital in March 2010 and sure enough....TUMOR.  It was the size of a tennis ball right behind his forehead and thank God it was benign.  In he went for brain surgery and alot of recovery.  Now you can barely see the scar that runs from ear to ear over the top of his head.  Needless to say he and I never got a chance to take the race car out after we bought it because of all the health issue he was suffering from....BUT.... if weather permits we are going to try and get it to the race track in Phoenix with in a couple of weeks.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!  and  Happy New Year!

March 16th 2011

March 23rd 2011

Well I finally got the Trooper running and on the road!!  I only have about 50 miles on it but so far it is running great.  We will be doing some family outings this spring in it.  It is nice to have a 4x4 you are not afraid to get dirty and scratch up again....  The Willy Jeep was nice but NO ROOM in it.  This Trooper has alot of room for us and ice chests.

June 8th  2011

Raegan goes in to have her tonsils and adenoids out.  Poor little girl did not come out of the anesthesia very well.  She was screaming at the top of her lungs.  They had to give her valium to calm her down.  Don't know who I felt worse for , her or the kid going in after her.  They rolled her by his bed as she was screaming and his eyes got huge!...LOL

Nov 04th 2011

Alot has been happening since March.  I will have to post some more pictures soon but here are few for now.

My next door neighbor, like so many other folks lately,  had to walk away from their home. Before they left they gave me a heads up so I might be able to grab it...well....we did.  8 months after they left the bank put it up.  The first day our offer was accepted and the deal is done.  2.4 acres and a 2100 sf  4 bedroom built in 2000.  Needed exterior paint, front and rear decks finished and minor issues inside but no big deal.  We got a very good deal on it.

Any way just as we were about to rent the place out....my brother calls and informs me they are on their way back to Flagstaff and wants to rent the house.  OK....GREAT!  but.....the previous owner never built a garage....how about a garage ?....OH OK  We built a 3 car garage next to the house.....Only for family was this done ;)

First building I ever acted as my own contractor on and it went up in 3 weeks

3 weeks once all the paperwork was done.... paperwork was 6 weeks

Steve's family and us all dressed up for Halloween.  Pirates, Gypsies, a Soma Dancer and of course Indiana Jones

Speaking of Steve....I put some of his wedding pictures up on page 4

OK,  that it in a nutshell.  I've been in Flagstaff, AZ  since 1990 and wish to stay here if at all possible.  My mom and dad could not stay away from their first granddaughter so they moved to Williams just about 30 minutes west of Flagstaff.

I hope all my friends from Mohave High are doing well and enjoying life as I am.  The 18 year old kids from 1985 are gone but the memories still linger. It was a wild ride and I'm glad I was there.  The years are flying by, so never miss an opportunity to hug and kiss the ones you love and laugh as much as you can.

Well.....check back from time to time as I will add new photos now and then.
